Teen Drummer Tyler Visser Completes Incredible 7.5-Hour Tool Marathon Performance

Tyler Visser, a 19-year-old drummer, wowed fans on October 10 with an incredible 7.5-hour performance of Tool’s music. He played 59 tracks from the band’s three-decade career, showcasing his stamina and skill. The entire session was filmed with multiple cameras, capturing every beat. However, he skipped two songs, “Sweat” and “Disgustipated,” due to copyright issues. Remarkably, he completed the marathon in just one take.

Since the video was released, it has gained over 180,000 views on YouTube. In the video’s caption, Tyler expressed his gratitude to his family and friends for their support. He also thanked viewers for sharing the experience with him. He mentioned how this performance deepened his appreciation for Tool’s drummer, Danny Carey, and the band’s music. Tyler noted, “Although I do not do Danny complete justice, being able to move past mistakes is something I learned.”

His set included tracks from albums like Opiate, Undertow, Ænima, Lateralus, 10,000 Days, and Fear Inoculum. Tyler’s drum kit was impressive, featuring a Tama Starclassic Maple and Zildjian cymbals. He used a mix of GoPro Hero 10 Black cameras and iPhones to capture every angle, ensuring top-notch sound quality.

Tyler started his YouTube journey in 2020 with Foo Fighters covers. Now, he’s taking on full albums from popular bands. As for Tool, they are working on a new record after their last release in 2019. Fans in Hawaii can look forward to seeing them live in December, marking their first shows on the islands in 15 years.
