The Black Keys have just released their new album, *No Rain, No Flowers*, this month. They decided to cancel their 2024 tour plans due to some management issues. The band recorded the 11 tracks at Easy Eye Studio in Nashville.
Dan Auerbach shared, “No matter who we let into our world, those people go through our filter. What comes out the other side is always us.” For this album, they collaborated with talented songwriters like Rick Nowels, Daniel Tashian, Scott Storch, and Desmond Child. Patrick Carney praised Child’s contributions, saying, “He’s incredibly talented and has put in the time to master his craft.”
The band worked on the album in July, right after parting ways with their management team, which included Irving Azoff and Steve Moir. This management change followed the struggles they faced with their previous album, *Ohio Players*, and its tour. Carney commented on the challenges of the music business, saying, “There’s a reason the music business is considered a slimy hellhole. Be careful who you trust. I wish the work was just making the songs and playing the shows, but it’s also worrying about who you’re working with.”
Despite the setbacks, the band has been busy, releasing five albums in six years. Carney emphasized their strong work ethic, stating, “If you want to sell concert tickets and have fans, then make stuff. Our biggest fear is being an unproductive band.”
Now, The Black Keys are ready to take their new songs on the road across North America. Fans can find tickets and more information about the tour online.
