The Cranberries to Launch Standalone Album Featuring Iconic 1995 Unplugged Session

A special 1995 acoustic performance by The Cranberries is set to be released on vinyl, CD, and streaming platforms through Island Records and UMe. The band played at Brooklyn’s Howard Gilman Opera House on Valentine’s Day 1995. This intimate set featured songs from their hit album, No Need to Argue. MTV aired the performance two months later, showcasing the magic of that night.

Drummer Fergal Lawler reflected on the experience, saying, “We’d seen some of the biggest names in music like R.E.M., Pearl Jam, The Cure, and Nirvana do their Unplugged’s and were blown away to be following in their footsteps.”

Fans can look forward to classic hits like “Zombie” and “Linger,” along with other favorites such as “Dreaming My Dreams,” “Ode To My Family,” and “Empty.” The string quartet Electra Strings, who performed with the band on Later with Jools Holland in 1994, joined them on stage for this special event.

Two tracks, “Free to Decide” and “I’m Still Remembering,” are particularly exciting. These songs had not been released yet when the band performed them that night. They would later appear on their 1996 album, To The Faithful Departed. Guitarist Noel Hogan shared, “Dolores and I wrote ‘Yesterday’s Gone’ just hours before. We sat at a piano, I pitched an idea, and the song came alive. MTV got the only live take we ever did.”

Fans can pre-order an exclusive colored vinyl with unique artwork, while standard copies will be available at regular music stores. Don’t miss out on this rare release!
