The Go-Go’s will be taking part in a pre-Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction event next month in Cleveland.
Per Cleveland.com, “Belinda Carlisle, Gina Schock and Kathy Valentine will take part in a book signing and fan Q&A event at the Rock Hall on Oct. 29. The museum has yet to announce specific details for the event. However, a publicist for Schock, who is set to release her book ‘Made In Hollywood: All Access with The Go-Go’s’ on Oct. 26, confirmed it is happening.”
This event is part of the Rock Hall Museum’s week-long celebration leading up to the 2021 induction ceremony taking place on October 30 at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland. Cleveland.com previously reported the week of events kicks of Sunday, October 24 with “Celebration Day” featuring “…free admission for Ohio residents, a first look at the 2021 Inductee Exhibit, live music, special merchandise from the Rock Hall and local music establishments, and fireworks.”
The outlet added, “The rest of the week will feature inductee-themed stories at the museum, inductee music played on the Rock Box art installations throughout the city and in the museum’s interactive Garage. The Rock Hall will also host a special induction-themed Rock Hall Nights party on Oct. 28 and the official dedication of the Class of 2021 signature plaque in the Hall of Fame Gallery on Oct. 29.”
In addition to The Go-Go’s, this year’s induction class for the performer category includes Foo Fighters, JAY-Z, Carole King, Todd Rundgren and Tina Turner. A performance from The Go-Go’s at the induction ceremony seems promising, especially after singer Belinda Carlisle recently confirmed she will be attending the induction following speculation she was skipping out on the event due to solo tour dates.
