The Rock for Ronnie benefit concert is set to honor the legendary metal singer Ronnie James Dio. As part of the event, a special auction will feature some amazing signed instruments. Fans can bid on a Lakland bass signed by Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler and an Epiphone Les Paul signed by George Thorogood.
Lita Ford, who is headlining the concert, will also contribute a custom-made guitar featuring artwork from Dio’s classic album, Holy Diver. She will sign it and play it during her performance. Additionally, the auction will include a violin from Metallica’s 2019 S&M2 concert.
Rock for Ronnie will take place this Sunday in Los Angeles. The event raises funds for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, which supports cancer research. Dio passed away from stomach cancer in 2010 at the age of 67.
