The Smashing Pumpkins surprised fans at their pre-Lollapalooza show in Chicago with two special guests. Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch, joined Billy Corgan and the band to sing the Brady classic “It’s a Sunshine Day.” Williams had recently appeared on Corgan’s podcast, and the stage moment was a playful crossover for fans.
Former Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf der Maur also reunited with the band to play “The Everlasting Gaze” from their 2000 album Machina/The Machines of God. Auf der Maur was in the band from 1999 to 2000 and had toured with Corgan again in 2025.
The Pumpkins headline Lollapalooza on Friday night. It’s their first time back on the festival bill since Lollapalooza settled in their hometown of Chicago in 2005. Fans can catch the set on the Lollapalooza livestream on Hulu and Disney+.
