The Used Announces Split EP Project and Hints at 2026 Stadium Tour with My Chemical Romance Members

During their Australian tour, Bert McCracken, the frontman of The Used, revealed that a split EP is in the works with some members of My Chemical Romance. He hinted that stadium shows could follow, joking, “They’ve been just begging us to tour, and we’re like, Stadiums? Nah, we’ll do the 1200 cap.” McCracken also mentioned that a larger tour might happen soon.

He shared more about the upcoming album, saying, “There’s a big plan for next year. We’re doing a split EP, not with My Chemical Romance, but with just half the band. We’ve joined forces via a super group.” The Used and My Chemical Romance have a long history together. In 2005, they collaborated on a cover of “Under Pressure,” the classic by Queen and David Bowie, to support tsunami victims in South Asia. They performed together throughout the 2000s until My Chemical Romance split in 2013.

Currently, The Used is celebrating 25 years of music with shows across Australia. Fans can enjoy full sets of three classic albums: their 2002 debut, 2004’s *In Love and Death*, and 2007’s *Lies for the Liars*.

Meanwhile, My Chemical Romance is filling stadiums in the U.S. At a recent show in Chicago, Billy Corgan from The Smashing Pumpkins joined them for “Bullet With Butterfly Wings.” Before that performance, Gerard Way, the lead singer of My Chemical Romance, reflected on the impact of The Smashing Pumpkins’ *Mellon Collie* tour, saying, “We saw that and were like, ‘We would love to do this, it would be real … amazing.’” Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting collaborations and tours!
