The Used Are Kings at The Queen

In support of their recently released LP The Canyon, The Used made their 3rd stop of their spring tour at The Queen in Delaware on May 1, 2018.   Supporting The Used this time around is The Fever 333 and Red Sun Rising.

The Fever 333, DNM first saw this trio perform a few weeks ago when they opened for Nothing More at the TLA in Philly.  The energy and passion they put in their live show is absolutely amazing.  They have quickly become one of our new favorite bands!  Their mix of punk, rock, hip hop and soul and Rage Against the Machine like vibe, has started to engage the crowds like we have never seen an opening act do.  By the end of their set Jason Aalon Butler (Vocals) and Stevis Harrison (Guitar) were out in the crowd helping to created their own circle pit.   It was truly something to behold.

RED SUN RISING  hit the stage with “Push”a song from their album Polyester Zeal. The song is high energy and the great choice to get things off to an rocking start. The Akron, OH band rocked the crowd with a mix of new songs and old favorites. Fans heard songs from the new album “Thread” such as “Deathwish” and “Fascination.” They included performances of some of their biggest hits including “The Otherside” and “Amnesia.” They closed their set with their mega hit “Emotionless”.

The Used have been around for over 15 years now, released seven albums and have shaped the alternative rock scene.  The combination of their high energy live performances and empathetic lyrics  have blended pop and hard rock, creating a perfect combination to make an everlasting impression on fans around the world.

They started off the night with ‘Maybe Memories,’ the first song off The Used, which the band released in June of 2002.  The crowd belted out ever lyric right along with McCracken.  They played the fan favorite hits like ” The Bird and the Worm,” Take It Away” and “The Taste of Ink.”  The finished the show by playing an encore of “Iddy Biddy” and “A Box Full of Sharp Objects”

The energy these guys bring to their live shows is incomparable. They have not slowed down a bit.  They engage with the crowd and have a larger than life presence when they are performing. It’s just such a fun and fantastic show every time The Used performs on stage.

The Used are Bert McCracken (Vocals, Piano), Jeph Howard (Bass, Backing Vocals), Dan Whitesides (Drums, Backing Vocals), Joey Bradford (Guitar, Backing Vocals).
