Some shows are so good that they stick around longer than expected. That’s the idea behind “Live in Tasmania,” a new live album from The White Stripes. This release features a concert recorded in Tasmania in 2006 and includes 33 songs spread across three vinyl LPs. Fans can look forward to an authentic experience, complete with all the energy and rawness of the performance.
Ben Blackwell, the official White Stripes archivist, shared his excitement about the release. He recalled, “Tasmania is the only White Stripes show I ever saw that made me think, ‘The world needs to hear this.’ It was beyond impressive.” Blackwell has been eager to share this show since the launch of The Vault 17 years ago, and he’s thrilled that fans will finally get to hear it.
This release is exclusive to those who subscribe to the Third Man Records Vault service. But that’s not all. The package also includes a bonus 12-inch single featuring Jack White’s halftime performance at a Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day game. This performance even includes a collaboration with Eminem, making it a memorable moment.
Subscriptions for the Vault release are open now and will close on April 30. There’s no hard sell here; Jack White is all about the music. If you’re a fan, you know what this means. He continues to share his passion for music with the world, and this release is a must-have for any White Stripes fan.
