The Who have officially joined TikTok just in time for their upcoming North American tour. You can follow their verified account at @officialthewho. The legendary English rock band is set to kick off their ‘The Song Is Over’ farewell tour later this month.
The tour starts on August 16 at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, FL, and wraps up on September 28 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Along the way, The Who will perform at iconic venues like Boston’s Fenway Park, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles for two nights, and Toronto’s Budweiser Stage for two shows. They will also make a special return to Madison Square Garden in New York.
This tour, named after their 1971 song, will feature special guests including Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters, Billy Idol, Booker T. Jones, Candlebox, Feist, Joe Bonamassa, Tom Cochrane, ZZ Ward, the Joe Perry Project, Chris Robinson from The Black Crowes, and Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz from Stone Temple Pilots.
Pete Townshend shared his thoughts on the tour, saying, “All good things must come to an end. Playing to American and Canadian audiences has always been incredible. The warmth and engagement of those audiences began back in 1967.”
On August 22, The Who will release *Live at the Oval*, their first official recording from the “Goodbye Summer” concert in 1971.
