Three Days Grace has made history by becoming the second band to achieve 20 No. 1 songs on the Billboard Rock chart. Their latest hit, “Kill Me Fast,” reached the top on December 13. They now trail only Shinedown, which has 21 chart-toppers over the past 44 years.
“Kill Me Fast” is the third consecutive No. 1 for the band in 2025. Their earlier hits this year include “Mayday,” which topped the chart for five weeks starting in January, and “Apologies,” which held the No. 1 spot for one week in July.
The Canadian rock band first hit No. 1 back in 2004 with “Just Like You,” their second song on the chart. Their debut single, “[I Hate] Everything About You,” peaked at No. 4 in 2003. Adam Gontier was the lead singer during their first run of 10 No. 1 hits. After he left, Matt Walst took over and led the band to seven more chart-toppers. The latest three hits feature both singers after Gontier’s return.
Five Finger Death Punch follows closely behind with 17 No. 1 songs, while Foo Fighters have 15. Metallica has 14, and Disturbed, Godsmack, Linkin Park, and Van Halen each have 13.
The last three No. 1 songs have come from these top bands. Five Finger Death Punch’s “The End,” featuring BABYMETAL, topped the charts on November 22 and 29, and Foo Fighters’ “Asking for a Friend” led on December 6.
“Kill Me Fast” currently sits at No. 12 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, with 2.7 million audience impressions for the week ending December 4. The song is also featured on Alternative Airplay.
Their eighth studio album, *Alienation*, includes all three of their 2025 No. 1 hits. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart in September and has sold 96,000 equivalent album units. Fans can purchase the album and check out the band’s upcoming tour dates.
