Three Days Grace delivered an unforgettable show at the O2 Academy Birmingham on December 4. The venue was packed, and fans were thrilled to see original vocalist Adam Gontier share the stage with current singer Matt Walst. Tickets for the Alienation Tour sold out quickly, and the excitement was palpable.
Fans enjoyed a mix of songs spanning from 2003 to 2025. Adam Gontier performed fan favorites like “Animal I Have Become,” “Pain,” and “Never Too Late,” while Matt Walst played guitar and provided backup vocals. The band, which started in Norwood, Ontario, in 1995, saw Gontier leave in 2013 after the release of Transit of Venus. Walst took over as lead singer and recorded albums like Human, Outsider, and Explosions before the reunion brought both vocalists back together for this tour.
Opening the show was Badflower, the Los Angeles rock band that played ten songs. Lead singer Josh Katz engaged the crowd during “Stalker” and even crowd-surfed during “Heroin.” They included seven tracks from their new Alienation album, starting with “Dominate,” featuring Gontier’s powerful vocals on material originally recorded by Walst. Other highlights included “Mayday,” “Kill Me Fast,” “Apologies,” and “Don’t Wanna Go Home Tonight,” with Cale Gontier joining on guitar for the latter. The band also covered Radiohead’s “Creep” with Gontier on acoustic guitar.
The crowd sang along to “Never Too Late,” one of their biggest hits. Gontier shared, “Music helps heal people. It gets them through tough times.” Walst promised fans they would return every year because “Birmingham likes to party.” The night ended with a high-energy performance of “Riot,” as crowd surfers and a mosh pit filled the venue. The tour also made a stop in Vienna, Austria, with Badflower supporting.
