Three Days Grace Discusses Their Connection with Rolling Stones and More – Exclusive Interview

Three Days Grace is a modern rock band that has a deep appreciation for classic rock. Recently, during a performance at WRIF, Adam Gontier and Matt Walst shared a memorable moment with Meltdown, a radio personality, about their experience with the legendary Rolling Stones.

The band revealed that they played two shows with the Stones. After their first performance, they received a note from Keith Richards that simply said, “Nice one, pals.” What an incredible honor! They decided to give that note to their tour manager, who passed it to Barry’s wife, Heather, for safekeeping. A few years later, she surprised them with a special gift: a framed picture of the band with the Stones, along with the setlist. It’s a cherished keepsake for them.

Switching topics, Gontier and Walst talked about the unique dynamic of having Gontier back in the band while also keeping Walst as a vocalist. “It’s been amazing,” they said. “The fans are loving it, and we couldn’t be happier.” They’ve known each other for years, growing up in the same small town, which makes their collaboration feel natural.

When Gontier was away from Three Days Grace, he formed a new band called Saint Asonia. He shared that building that band from scratch was a big challenge. “A lot of people still don’t know the name,” he admitted. But whether he’s with Three Days Grace or Saint Asonia, Gontier loves being on stage. “It’s all about the music and playing shows,” he said.
