The Cramps, pioneers of psychobilly, are set to reissue three classic punk rock albums on vinyl. Fans can look forward to the return of 1980’s *Songs the Lord Taught Us*, 1981’s *Psychedelic Jungle*, and the 1984 compilation *Bad Music For Bad People*. These reissues come as the Netflix series *Wednesday* returns for its second season, following a Cramps revival sparked by the show in 2022. The song “Goo Goo Muck” from *Psychedelic Jungle* featured in a popular dance scene with Jenna Ortega, boosting its weekly streams from 2,500 to over 134,000 and landing it on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart.
*Songs the Lord Taught Us*, produced by Alex Chilton of Big Star, is the Cramps’ cult classic debut. While it didn’t make them superstars at the time, it has influenced countless bands since. Pitchfork’s Anna Gaca described their sound as “sexy music for people who didn’t buy mainstream sex appeal,” blending ’50s rockabilly and punk.
For their second album, *Psychedelic Jungle*, the Cramps took on production themselves, delivering raw rock ‘n’ roll with a touch of B-movie horror. All Music Guide noted the album’s swampy, trashy vibe.
*Bad Music For Bad People* features 11 tracks from before their debut album, including “New Kind of Kick,” later covered by the Jesus And Mary Chain, and an alternate mix of “Goo Goo Muck.”
