Tina Turner ‘Thrilled’ Over Her Solo Rock Hall Induction

Tina Turner has issued a brief statement regarding the news she will be inducted as part of the 2021 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Turner shared to social media, “I am absolutely thrilled to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame amongst such amazing artists! Thank you for all your continued love and support over the years! Love, Tina.”

Turner and fellow 2021 Rock Hall inductee Carole King will become the second and third women, respectively, to be Rock Hall double-inductees. Stevie Nicks became the first woman to be a Rock Hall double-inductee in 2019 when she was recognized for her solo work. She was previously inducted as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998. Turner was inducted as a performer in 1991 with Ike Turner.

As previously reported, the Rock Hall is planning on an in-person induction ceremony with fans taking place on Saturday, October 30 at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse arena in Cleveland. Tickets are expected to go on sale in July. The 2021 Induction Ceremony will air on HBO and stream on HBO Max at a later date.
