Tobias Forge Pauses Ghost Following Completion of 70-Date Skeletour

The frontman cited tour fatigue and a desire for creative purpose before recording a new album.

Tobias Forge has put Swedish occult rock band Ghost on hiatus after wrapping up the group’s 70-show Skeletour in February. Running from April 2025 until February 23 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, the tour spanned Europe, North America, and Mexico in support of their 2025 album Skeletá, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Speaking to Kerrang!, Forge explained that managing the massive production—which involved 106 crew members, 22 trucks, and six buses—left him drained, and he stated he will not force himself to make a new record without a clear direction or something to say.

Forge also declined promoter offers for stadium and festival appearances that would have required a scaled-down setup, stating he did not want to offer a full production in some cities while shortchanging others. Additionally, the band released its concert film 2 Big To Rig, which highlights two sold-out September 2025 shows at Mexico City’s Palacio De Los Deportes.
