Tons of Great Concerts in the Area This Weekend!

As you are probably well aware, there is always a ton to do in and around the Philadelphia area every single day. This weekend is stacked and packed with a slew of great concerts and performances that I think you should know about!

Here are some great concerts in the area this weekend…

Tonight/Friday, September 8th, we have a few WMMR Concert Events lined up, including Danny Worsnop and the fellas of Asking Alexandria are touring in support of their brand-new album Where Do We Go From Here? which just came out a few weeks ago via Better Noise. They are bringing their ‘Psycho Thunder Tour’ to Franklin Music Hall tonight, and bringing along our friends from Mongolia, The Hu, MMR*B*Q alums Bad Wolves, and Langhorne, PA’s Zero 9:36. Showtime 7:30 pm

Beck

The always amazing to see live, Beck, will be performing over at the TD Pavilion at the Mann Music Center in beautiful Fairmount Park tonight with Phoenix, Weyes Blood & Sir Chloe, part of their ‘Summer Odyssey’ Tour. Showtime 5:45pm. Meanwhile, Swedish singer and songwriter Kristian Matsson, who performs under the stage name The Tallest Man on Earth, brings his ‘Henry St. Tour’ to Union Transfer on Spring Garden St. with Andrea Von Kampen set to open. Showtime 7pm.

$uicideboy$

At the ‘Big Joint’ tonight you can catch the $uicideboy$ with Ghostmane, City Morgue, Sematary & Ramirez part of the 2023 ‘Grey Day’ tour. Showtime 6:30pm. Maybe you’re heading up the Northeast Extension to the Pavilion at Montage Mountain to see the ‘Freaks on Parade 2023 Tour’ with The Devilman himself, Rob Zombie, along with legendary shock-rocker Alice Cooper, Al Jourgensen and the fellas in Ministry and Filter also set to perform. Showtime 6pm.

Evanescence

And if that is not enough for you, Amy Lee and Evanescence bring their ‘Bitter Truth’ 2023 tour to Ovation Hall at the Ocean Casino in Atlantic City, with the hard-rocking band Plush set to open the evening. This will be the final stop on their North American tour prior to hitting Mexico and South America next month. Showtime 9pm.

One Fine Day

On to the Saturday events in and around the Philadelphia area, including the inaugural, massively fun-sounding ‘One Fine Day’ Festival over at the Mann in Fairmount Park. The lineup includes Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Sting, Reggae and hip-hop superstar Shaggy, the always amazing Thundercat, Philly boys G Love & Special Sauce, Koffee, Tank and the Bangas, and many more! It’s sure to be a day filled with great music and special collaborations that you won’t see anywhere else! Showtime 3 pm.

Fame on Fire

Fame on Fire brings their ‘Chaos Tour’ to The Fillmore on Saturday night with Kingdom Collapse set to open. Showtime 8 pm. Right next door to the Fillmore, Brooklyn Bowl Philly hosts Bowling For Soup. It’s called the ‘Getting Old Sucks’ tour. Anthony Zero and Mest are both set to open the evening—Showtime 8 pm. Not too far away from the Fillmore and Brooklyn Bowl, there’s a concert at Union Transfer. British hard rockers Sleep Token bring their ‘Summer Rituals’ tour to Philadelphia with A.A. Williams set to open the evening—Showtime 8 pm.

In an outdoor event at the Franklin Music Hall on Saturday, you can catch ‘The Loneliest Place on Earth Fest’ featuring The Wonder Years. They will perform their album The Greatest Generation in its entirety. Origami Angel, Laura Stevenson, Sweet Pill, Anxious, Kississippi, Action/Adventure & more! Showtime 4 pm.

Danzig and MGK

Maybe your travels take you to the shore this weekend. There is always plenty of stuff to do and see. Machine Gun Kelly brings his ‘2023 Tour’ to Hard Rock Live at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Showtime 8 pm. If you take a short trip down the boardwalk to the Ocean Casino’s Ovation Hall, you can catch Danzig on their ’35th Anniversary Tour.’ They tour in support of the 35th anniversary of the release of their self-titled debut album They will perform it in its entirety, including their smash-hit “Mother.” Behemoth, Twin Temple, and Midnight are all set to open the evening. Showtime 6:30 pm.

Bonus

Here’s an added bonus for Sunday. There’s a 3 pm and a 7 pm show at Hard Rock Live at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. John Stewart, John Mulaney, and SNL alum Pete Davidson bring their ‘John, John & Pete’ tour to Atlantic City.
