The rock world was shocked and saddened on Friday when news broke that Neil Peart from Rush died following a three-and-a-half-year battle with brain cancer. Taking the stage just hours later in their first concert of the new year, Tool paid tribute to the drum legend who has had a profound influence on the band. Coming out of “Schism” halfway into the set, they performed a partial cover of “Passage To Bangkok.” Tool seems to be big fans of the 1976 classic from Rush’s 2112 album, having performed bits of it on multiple occasions before their song “Cold & Ugly.”
