Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have announced that the Future Ruins festival has been canceled. A statement on the festival’s website said, “Unfortunately, Future Ruins will not move forward this year. Due to several logistical challenges, we feel we cannot provide the experience this event was meant to offer.”
The statement continued, “Instead of compromising, we are choosing to rethink and reevaluate.” They also expressed regret for any inconvenience and thanked fans for their support. Ticket holders will receive automatic refunds and an email with more details.
Future Ruins was set to take place on November 8 in Los Angeles. The festival aimed to celebrate the music from movies and TV shows. Alongside Reznor and Ross, known for their work on scores like The Social Network and Soul, the lineup included famous composers like Danny Elfman, John Carpenter, and Mark Mothersbaugh.
Reznor described the festival as a chance for top musicians to share new stories through music in a unique live setting. Fans were looking forward to an exciting experience, but now they will have to wait for future events.
