Twisted Sister scraps reunion tour over frontman Dee Snider’s health issues.

Twisted Sister has canceled their 50th anniversary reunion tour. The tour was set to kick off in April with original members Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, and Eddie Ojeda, but has been called off due to health issues affecting Snider.

In a statement, Jay Jay and Eddie explained, “Due to the sudden and unexpected resignation of Twisted Sister’s lead singer Dee Snider, the band has been forced to cancel all shows.” This includes the opening concert on April 25 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as well as all summer dates. They added, “The future of Twisted Sister will be determined in the next several weeks.”

A separate statement revealed more about Snider’s health struggles. At 70, he has been dealing with degenerative arthritis and has undergone multiple surgeries just to keep performing. He can now only manage a few songs at a time due to pain. The statement also mentioned that Snider has recently learned that his intense dedication to music has affected his heart as well.

“I don’t know of any other way to rock,” Snider said. “The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I’d rather walk away than be a shadow of my former self.” He concluded with a nod to his limitations, saying, “A man’s got to know his limitations. Sadly, Dee Snider now knows his.”

This tour would have marked the first time Twisted Sister performed together since 2016.
