Twisted Sister’s 50th Anniversary Reunion Tour Cancelled

Twisted Sister has canceled all scheduled shows for their 50th anniversary comeback after lead singer Dee Snider stepped down due to health issues. The band announced the news on their official Facebook page. The tour was set to kick off on April 25 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and continue through the summer.

Dee Snider, who is 70, has been dealing with degenerative arthritis and has had multiple surgeries to keep performing. Recently, he learned that his heart has also suffered damage. Despite his struggles, he has been able to sing a few songs at a time, but it’s been tough. Snider expressed his feelings, saying, “I don’t know of any other way to rock. The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I’d rather walk away than be a shadow of my former self.”

The core members of the band, including Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, and Eddie Ojeda, were set to perform. Russell Pzütto was going to fill in on bass for Mark Mendoza, and Joe Franco was set to play drums, taking over for A.J. Pero, who passed away in 2015.

Twisted Sister announced these limited comeback shows in September 2025, ten years after their farewell tour. They planned to perform 20 to 25 festival dates and a few headlining gigs around the world.

The band formed in 1972 and rose to fame with their 1984 album, *Stay Hungry*, which featured the iconic songs “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock.” After their initial run ended in the late 1980s, they reunited in 2001 for a benefit concert and did another farewell tour in 2016. Fans will be waiting to see what happens next for the band.
