Tyler Burgess Discusses American Monster, Musical Influences, and Future Projects — Exclusive Interview

Tyler Burgess, the former frontman of Falling in Reverse, recently chatted with Carlota from X107.5 Las Vegas. Their conversation was funny, heartfelt, and covered a lot of ground, from Pantera to Sabrina Carpenter.

One of Tyler’s most memorable moments was a jam session with Vinnie Paul of Pantera and Hellyeah. He walked into the studio expecting to record a metal version of Frank Sinatra’s “Send in the Clowns.” Instead, he found himself jamming with one of his idols. “I was sh*ing my spine out,” he joked. They played Pantera’s classic tracks, and Tyler left with signed drumsticks and an unforgettable experience.

The talk took an emotional turn when Tyler recalled seeing the reformed Pantera live while on tour with Avenged Sevenfold. Watching from the side stage, just feet away from Zakk Wylde, he couldn’t hold back his tears. “I sobbed. I wept like a baby,” he said.

Now, Tyler is focused on his new project, American Monster. He believes it’s time for a band to shake things up. “Right now, there needs to be a band that shakes things up a bit,” he stated. His debut single has already made waves, and merchandise sold out quickly.

What’s next? A Halloween night show at Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas. “Costumes encouraged,” Tyler said with a grin. Local bands Imperial Tide and Allura will support them. Tyler is planning a diverse catalog, with future singles that promise to surprise fans.

Tyler’s musical tastes are wide-ranging, drawing inspiration from Pantera, White Zombie, Sleep Token, and even Sabrina Carpenter. He describes this project as a love letter to metal, horror, and nostalgia. “I’m just trying to build this thing and finally invite everyone in,” he shared.

Don’t miss American Monster live on Halloween night. Expect great riffs, surprises, and a lot of energy!
