Umphrey’s McGee took the stage at The Showbox in Seattle on March 20, kicking off their Sky’s the Limit 2026 Tour. They welcomed saxophonist Skerik and drummer Andee “Beats” Avila for a special performance, which included a cover of a Rolling Stones classic.
Guitarist Jake Cinninger was absent from the March shows, taking a personal leave. This gave founding guitarist Brendan Bayliss a chance to shine, as he led the vocals on the band’s first performance of a rare song in 72 shows. Skerik joined in with his saxophone, while Avila teamed up with Andy Farag on percussion during an exciting jam. Bayliss focused on rhythm before taking the lead, creating a lively call-and-response moment with Skerik that got the crowd buzzing.
The West Coast leg of the tour has been full of surprises, with many debuts and bust-outs since the band started in Southern California. The show opened with “You Got The Wrong Guy” from their 2021 album, which smoothly transitioned into another track. The first set featured a connection to Jimi Hendrix’s music, while the second set kicked off with an impressive 22-minute jam before the guest appearances added even more excitement.
The second set wrapped up with a pairing of songs, and Bayliss led the encore. Fans can look forward to the next show at Midtown Ballroom in Bend, Oregon. Stay tuned for more updates as the tour continues!
