Valerie-June-Gone-In-30-Minutes

Today, Craft Recordings announced the launch of the second season of their podcast and video series ‘Gone in 30 Minutes’. This weekly series was originally launched in August 2020 and is hosted by Tom DeSavia, Senior Vice President of A&R at Concord Music Publishing.

‘Gone in 30 Minutes’ Season Two begins with Fantasy Records’ acclaimed genre-bending singer-songwriter, Valerie June. On the heels of her latest release, The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers, produced by Jack Splash (Kendrick Lamar, Alicia Keys, John Legend) and June herself, she shares the creative methods that drive her artistic vision—including the reason she originally kept her desire to be a singer a secret and revealing the instrument she’d love to master. With exceptional humility and effervescent vim, Valerie June reminds us all, when the heaviness of the world gets you down, never stop dreaming.

Similar to last season, each episode will feature 30 minutes of remote, unfiltered conversations with musical guests from throughout the Concord family and beyond, speaking about the current state of the music business, the challenges of creating art during a pandemic, and what they’re up to right now. “I am absolutely thrilled that we’re doing another season of GITM,” said host Tom Desavia. “Not only do I love that the show is giving a voice to artists and songwriters to speak about their personal challenges and victories during the Covid-19 era, but being connected to a worldwide creative community has been a real lifeline for me personally while in lockdown.” You can check the footage out below.

Confirmed guests for later this season include Fantasy Records’ Allison Russell and JT Nero, Jimmy LaValle from The Album Leaf, Neal Francis, Kevin Griffin and Sean and Sara Watkins, among others.

“Overcoming the distance between us, ‘Gone in 30 Minutes’ Season Two brings the audience closer to the artists in the most casual and authentic of settings,” said Laura Saez, producer and VP Content Development & Strategy, Craft Recordings. “In only 30 minutes, artists share with us the moments that define their creative process, ultimately inspiring the music that provides listeners with a much-needed escape to endless possibilities—no matter the state of the world.”

Host Tom DeSavia is currently SVP of A&R at Concord Music Publishing, based in Los Angeles. DeSavia has also co-authored two bestselling books about the Los Angeles punk rock scene with punk legend John Doe from X, 2016’s Under the Big Black Sun and 2019’s More Fun in the New World.

Said Sig Sigworth, President Craft Recordings and Chief Catalog Executive Concord, “Delivering ‘Gone in 30 Minutes’ across a multi-platform, multi-format strategy allows Craft Recordings to continue to deliver new original content to fans from a diverse lineup of the incredibly talented writers and musicians from throughout the Concord family and beyond.”
