Warner Bros. is set to release a special 30th anniversary edition of Van Halen’s album, Balance, this August. This edition features rare live tracks and previously unheard material from the band’s last studio work with Sammy Hagar. Sammy Hagar shared his thoughts on the album, calling it “one of the darkest records, lyrically, I’ve ever done in my life,” reflecting on the band’s internal struggles at the time.
Fans will have three options to choose from: a complete 2LP/2CD/Blu-ray set, a standard 2CD pack, or vinyl in black or orange. After 30 years, the album is making a return to vinyl, giving collectors a chance to grab it in this format.
Originally released in 1995, Balance reached the top of Billboard’s 200 chart and sold three million copies in the U.S., earning triple platinum status from the Recording Industry Association of America. The new edition includes the rare track “Crossing Over” and features two songs from the Twister movie soundtrack: “Humans Being” and “Respect the Wind.” The Blu-ray disc also includes music videos and a surprise live version of “The Seventh Seal” from a show in Minneapolis.
The main album retains its 12 original songs, including hits like “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You.” Additionally, this release includes eight live tracks from a BBC show at Wembley Stadium. This marks the final studio work from Hagar, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, and Michael Anthony.
The deluxe set also comes with a 20-page photo book, making it a must-have for fans. Get ready to celebrate this iconic album!
