Violet Grohl’s new single, “595,” has an interesting backstory. The song was inspired by a T-shirt she ordered from Etsy, which advertised a phone sex line. However, her dad, Dave Grohl, got involved in a surprising way. He opened the package before Violet could see it and hid the shirt in his studio for a couple of months.
Violet shared her story with Radio X in the U.K. She said, “I scoured the house looking for the shirt because it said it was delivered, and then I found it in a box in the studio.”
In another fun moment, Violet revealed how she told her parents about her record deal. She did it over dinner, saying, “My dad can make a killer Sunday roast. I’m pretty sure it was a Sunday roast.”
Violet’s debut album, *Be Sweet to Me*, is set to release on May 29. Meanwhile, her dad, Dave, will drop a new Foo Fighters album titled *Your Favorite Toy* on April 24. Fans of both artists have a lot to look forward to!
