AWOLNATION and surfer-musician Makua have just released the video for their new single, “Catch a Wave.” The video is now available on YouTube and features AWOLNATION’s lead singer, Aaron Bruno, as a giant cyclops chasing Makua through the streets of Los Angeles.
Bruno shared that he wrote the song in memory of a fellow surfer who passed away in the water. He felt it wasn’t right to release it alone until he met Makua, a big wave champion, which made the collaboration feel perfect.
“Catch a Wave” was released in February, and it’s part of AWOLNATION’s latest album, “The Phantom Five,” which came out in 2024. Bruno is also busy with his hardcore side project, The Barbarians of California.
(Note: The video contains uncensored profanity.)
