If you’ve never been to an In This Moment concert, the band is giving you a taste of what it’s like to see them live in the form of a new video. The Maria Brink-fronted band has unleashed a new, live video for their song “River of Fire” off the band’s latest album, “Ritual.” The video, which is streaming now on YouTube features colorful footage of Brink, guitarist Chris Howorth and company performing the song on a recent tour stop.
“Ritual” packs a collection of the band’s metallic originals, as well as a cover of Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight.” Brink also does a duet with Judas Priest’s Rob Halford on the song “Oh Lord” off the set.
When asked how Brink feels about the transformation the band has experienced from “Black Widow” to “Ritual,” Brink tells Metal Hammer that she loves it and that “it feels like such a natural progression.”
“I’m a theatrical person and I love to take on all these different characters, but with this album, it’s a lot more just naturally me,” she added. “It feels really good and I feel powerful – the most powerful I’ve felt in my career. It’s a more stripped down, spiritual and isolated journey. We can strip everything away, and all the technology and all the people in our lives, and go alone into the woods. What do you find within yourself and who are you? It’s an intimate album.”
In the same Metal Hammer chat, she says that now, when she’s performing live, she gets to, “take off the high heels. I’m liberated and free! I’ve been wearing high heels for years onstage, and now that I’m surrendering to the more organic me, I’m just wearing a lot more long, flowing fabric where everything’s just blowing in the wind and just my bare feet. I don’t feel hostage to latex and high heels. I’ve liberated myself.”
In This Moment are currently touring to promote their latest album “Ritual” on the band’s Witching Hour North American headlining tour.
