To kick off 2022, rising singer/rapper/songwriter Ryan Trey (#JUSTAREGULARLABEL/
Interscope Records) has released a thrilling video for his new single, “Slide.”
The song, which is featured on his 14-track album, A 64 East Saga, “Slide” finds Ryan looking for an escape after a rocky fallout with his girlfriend. The visual, directed by Joshua Valle, finds the multi-hyphenate star venturing to the strip club with his friends to alleviate his heartaches.
He encounters a dancer who catches his eye and lures him to the bar upon arrival. Despite his girlfriend’s pleas via texts, Ryan gets intimate with his new interest and stays the entire night at the club while his friends leave him behind. At the end of the video, a drunken Ryan finds himself in a daze, thinking he sees his girlfriend at the club when in reality, it’s the dancer who caught his attention from earlier on.
A 64 East Saga includes a number of prominent producers such as Boi1da, Vinylz, Jahaan Sweet, OG Parker, Rob Halladay, and Albert Lee, whose beats help anchor Ryan’s stunning vocals along with his clever wordplay. To bolster the acclaim of the project, Ryan will hold two showcases this month in Los Angeles and New York, respectively, to give fans a live taste of the album’s sonics. He’ll first perform at The Echo in LA on January 20 and then hit Baby’s All Right in New York on January 25.
Additionally, BAPE and Reebok recently announced their new collaboration on the sneaker’s Club C and Instapump Fury featuring #JUSTAREGULARDAYS Bryson Tiller, Nia Sultana, and Ryan Trey. The new sneakers inspired by the spring and summer will officially release on January 15.
A 64 East Saga is a follow-up to Ryan’s 2018 project, august. The collection of songs garnered positive reviews, as Billboard billed him as a “threatening combo artist within the independent circuit.” “Mutual Butterflies” serves as the project’s most successful record, clocking in at almost 20 million streams on Spotify.
