Limp Bizkit’s Wes Borland has created a new signature guitar, the Wes Borland King V KV, inspired by his long-time love for Megadeth. He remembers a video that showcased the necks of Marty Friedman, Dave Mustaine, and David Ellefson, all featuring the iconic Jackson shark tooth inlays.
The King V KV is based on a left-handed Jackson guitar that Borland modified to suit his right-handed playing style. He explains that he chose this guitar because it was more fun, despite others questioning his decision to convert a left-handed model. The guitar features an upside-down Jackson logo on the headstock, a nod to its origins.
Its design is simple, with just one volume knob and a Floyd Rose tremolo system. Borland admits he feels a bit “kinda dumb” compared to other guitars that have many features, like Jack White’s signature Fender. But for him, the simplicity is perfect.
