Will Hunt won’t be drumming for Godsmack on their 2026 The Rise Of Rock world tour. His main commitment with Evanescence conflicts with the tour dates. This announcement clears up any doubts about his future with Godsmack after he filled in for them during their spring 2025 European tour. Hunt stepped in when Shannon Larkin and Tony Rombola left in April 2025.
In a recent interview, Hunt explained, “When I did that European tour, I didn’t know what would happen afterward. They had those dates already booked, just like I did with Evanescence.” He emphasized his loyalty to Evanescence, stating, “I’ve got no plans to leave.”
Sully Erna, the frontman of Godsmack, has been dedicated to music for his entire life, and Hunt respects that drive. “Sully’s a lifer, man. We all want to keep going,” he said. Hunt was brought in to help finish the European tour but made it clear that he is committed to Evanescence.
Shannon Larkin joined Godsmack in 2002 after playing with WRATHCHILD and UGLY KID JOE. Tony Rombola has been with the band since the mid-1990s, and both are currently working on new music.
The upcoming Godsmack tour will feature Stone Temple Pilots and DOROTHY as supporting acts. Live Nation is backing the tour, which kicks off on May 10 in Bristow, Virginia, at Jiffy Lube Live and wraps up on September 26 at the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater in Nampa, Idaho. Fans can look forward to an exciting lineup and a great show!
