YUNGBLUD and Sharon Osbourne Respond to GRAMMY Nomination for Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath Tribute

YUNGBLUD has snagged three nominations for the 2026 GRAMMY Awards, and one of them really stands out. He earned a nomination for Best Rock Performance for his live cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” at a tribute concert for the late Ozzy Osbourne. Fans are calling it a highlight of the Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath farewell event. Sharon Osbourne shared her pride in YUNGBLUD after the news broke, saying, “I’m so proud of you. It’s just amazing, and I know Ozzy is smiling down at you. Love you always, Sharon,” on Instagram.

The performance took place in July during the Back To The Beginning concert at Villa Park. YUNGBLUD led a powerful rendition of the classic 1972 Black Sabbath song, joined by Anthrax bassist Frank Bello, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, Sleep Token’s II on drums, and Adam Wakeman on keys.

In addition to Best Rock Performance, YUNGBLUD is also nominated for Best Rock Album for “IDOLS” and Best Rock Song for “ZOMBIE.” He expressed his gratitude on Instagram, thanking the Osbourne family for their support. “Thank you for giving me the opportunity and your stage to show the world what I could do,” he wrote. “Thank you for teaching us all how to dream and never compromise.”

YUNGBLUD and the Osbourne family have been close since 2022, when Ozzy and Sharon appeared in the music video for his song “The Funeral.” They even shared a moment backstage at the Back To The Beginning concert, where YUNGBLUD gave Ozzy a special gift.

The 2026 GRAMMY Awards will take place in Los Angeles early next year, and YUNGBLUD will be competing against some of the biggest names in rock.
