Former Arch Enemy and The Agonist frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz has officially announced the formation of her new band, Blue Medusa. The lineup features guitarists Alyssa Day (Mindscar, Absentia) and Dani Sophia (ex-Till Lindemann), alongside bassist Alicia Vigil (DragonForce, Vigil of War) and drummer Delaney Jaster (Stitched Up Heart).

The announcement comes months after White-Gluz’s November 2025 departure from Arch Enemy, where she served as lead vocalist for 11 years across four studio albums. White-Gluz described the new collaboration as "exactly what I have always wanted," noting that the music combines heavy, energetic, and catchy elements. Blue Medusa is expected to perform live shows as the vocalist continues to transition into this new era of her career following her recent solo single, "The Room Where She Died".

Black Label Society kicked off their 2026 North American tour on Friday, March 6, at the Mission Ballroom in Denver, Colorado, with a surprise addition to their setlist. For the first time since 2001, the band performed a cover of Ozzy Osbourne’s 1991 classic "No More Tears".

The performance served as a poignant tribute to the late "Prince of Darkness," following his passing in July 2025. Zakk Wylde, who co-wrote the track and played on the original album, formed Black Label Society in 1998 while serving as Ozzy's longtime guitarist. The tour also features Wylde’s Black Sabbath tribute act, Zakk Sabbath, and precedes the March 27 release of the band's 13th studio album, Engines of Demolition, which includes a dedicated tribute track titled "Ozzy's Song".

Linkin Park’s 2024 comeback single, "The Emptiness Machine," has officially surpassed 800 million streams on Spotify. The track, which served as the lead single for their album From Zero, is now the band's 10th most-streamed song on the platform, having recently overtaken the classic "Papercut". The track is projected to reach the 1 billion stream milestone by the end of 2026.

Netflix has released the first trailer for The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel, a new documentary centered on the band's early years and the legacy of founding guitarist Hillel Slovak. Directed by Ben Feldman, the film features archival footage and new interviews with Anthony Kiedis, Flea, and John Frusciante, as well as former drummer Jack Irons and producer George Clinton.

The documentary explores the group's "gritty formative years" in the Los Angeles music scene and the profound impact Slovak had on their funk-rock sound before his death in 1988. Notably, the band recently issued a statement clarifying that while members participated in interviews out of respect for Slovak's memory, they did not have creative control over the project and do not consider it the "official" Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary. The film is set to premiere at SXSW on March 13 before arriving on Netflix globally on March 20, 2026.

Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante made a guest appearance at The Sphere in Las Vegas to perform alongside DJ ILLENIUM. The surprise collaboration took place as part of ILLENIUM’s residency at the immersive venue, where LaPlante joined him onstage to perform their 2022 collaborative track, "Shivering".

The performance follows a busy start to 2026 for LaPlante, who recently performed "Soft Spine" at the GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony in February. Spiritbox is also preparing for a major fall tour across the UK and Europe alongside Jinjer and Dying Wish.

Filmmaker and Society 1 frontman Matt Zane has released an unreleased song from the late Wayne Static titled "Infiltrator." The track is one of six unreleased songs Zane intended to feature in his unauthorized documentary about the Static-X frontman and his late wife, Tera Wray.

Due to ongoing legal objections from the families of Static and Wray regarding the use of Static’s original vocals, Zane has launched a search for a new singer to re-track the vocal parts. Zane compared this approach to how Jonathan Davis handled the Queen of the Damned soundtrack, where Davis wrote the music but other vocalists performed on the official release due to contractual limitations. The song's debut comes as the estate continues to focus on the official band documentary, Evil Disco: The Rise, Fall, and Regeneration of Static-X.

Sevendust’s Lajon Witherspoon Shares Band’s Nightly Pre-Show Ritual
In a recent interview with Kati Rausch of Music Interview Corner, Sevendust vocalist Lajon Witherspoon detailed the band’s longstanding pre-show tradition of praying together before every performance. Witherspoon noted that the ritual has been a constant since the group's inception three decades ago and often includes guests or crew members who happen to be nearby.

Witherspoon shared that the prayer is an expression of gratitude for the band's longevity and a wish for the safety of both the performers and the audience. He also highlighted that Brian Marshall of Alter Bridge—tourmates on the band’s 2026 European run—makes a point to join them for the prayer each night. Beyond the ritual, Witherspoon credited the band's rare lineup stability to mutual respect and a collaborative creative process.

Black Label Society frontman and longtime Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde has shared his admiration for Lady Gaga, naming her 2008 debut album, The Fame, as a record that people might be surprised to learn he owns. In an interview with Metal Hammer, Wylde called the pop superstar "fking awesome" and urged fans to look past her stage outfits to recognize her fundamental musical abilities.

“I think Lady Gaga is f*cking awesome. Have you ever seen her play piano? She’ll sit down and really throw down something. Aside from all the crazy outfits, she’s a really f*cking good musician and she writes all that shit too. Check out YouTube, ‘Lady Gaga Led Zeppelin’. It’s her with dark hair playing in a little club in a cover band, before she became Lady Gaga.”

Filter's Richard Patrick has revealed that his new industrial trap metal project, A Place To Kill, is set to release its debut EP in early June 2026. In an interview with Eric Broadbent of Rock Shop LIVE, Patrick described the collaboration with vocalist Jim Louvau as "super heavy, in-your-face industrial music for the apocalypse," citing current political and social tensions as major inspirations.

Patrick, who provides backup vocals for the new group, emphasized that the project is "the angriest thing I've ever done," even as he continues to tour and release music with Filter. The EP is expected to drop around June 3 or 4. Fans may recognize the project from the 2023 track "The Killing Field," which was originally released as a B-side to Filter's vinyl single "For The Beaten".

Dogstar—the rock trio featuring bassist Keanu Reeves, guitarist/vocalist Bret Domrose, and drummer Robert Mailhouse—has announced their fourth studio album, All In Now, arriving May 29, 2026, via their own Dillon Street Records. Along with the announcement, the band has released the album’s title track for streaming and mapped out a major North American tour set for this summer.

The new project was helmed by producer Nick Launay, known for his work with IDLES and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. It follows the band's 2023 comeback effort, Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees. Mailhouse noted that the new music captures the "energy" and "fun" of the trio playing together, while Reeves expressed the band's eagerness to return to the studio following their recent reunion.

Mexican rock trio The Warning has released their latest single, "Kerosene," via LAVA/Republic Records. The track is described as an "incendiary" anthem featuring a hyper-charged drumbeat, gritty guitar riffs, and a chantable chorus. The accompanying music video depicts sisters Dany, Pau, and Ale Villarreal speeding through a desert in a stolen car before culminating in a junkyard scene involving flamethrowers.

The new release follows the band’s recent collaboration with Carín León, "Love To Be Loved." In addition to the new music, The Warning has a major touring year ahead for 2026, with scheduled appearances at Lollapalooza, a support slot for Yungblud’s "Idols" tour in the U.K. and U.S., and a headlining show at Pier 17 in New York City on June 11.
