311 Kicks Off Unity Tour with a Summer Blast in Atlantic City

311 kicked off their 2025 Unity Tour on the first day of summer—June 21, 2025—at Ovation Hall inside the Ocean Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The venue was packed, the crowd was loud, and 311 gave fans exactly what they came for: a fun, high-energy night filled with classic songs, newer favorites, and nonstop good vibes.

The night started with Sitting on Saturn, a newer band that had a chill, upbeat sound with just enough edge to grab the crowd’s attention early. Their songs had a mix of smooth guitar work, catchy melodies, and some spacey vibes that fit the summer night mood. Even though most people weren’t familiar with them, the band had the audience clapping and nodding along by the end of their short set. Sitting on Saturn showed why they were picked to open the tour—they had heart, and they made an impression.

Then came Badflower, bringing a much darker and louder energy to the stage. Frontman Josh Katz gave a passionate performance, with raw vocals and honest lyrics that hit hard. Songs like “Ghost” and “30” brought a mix of emotion and power, and the band kept things tight from start to finish. Badflower‘s set was intense, and the shift in tone from the first opener helped build the perfect lead-up to 311.

By the time 311 came onstage, the energy in the room was off the charts. They opened with “Homebrew” and didn’t let up for the next two hours, playing a huge 22-song set that covered every era of their music. The crowd was moving and singing along from the first note. Classics like “Come Original,” “Do You Right,” “Beautiful Disaster,” and “Don’t Stay Home” got big reactions, while deeper tracks like “Stealing Happy Hours” and “T & P Combo” showed off their musicianship and tight groove.

Newer songs like “Need Somebody” and “Purpose” from their Full Bloom album fit in perfectly and were just as well-received as the older hits. The mix of reggae, funk, rock, and rap still feels fresh, and 311 knows how to shift gears smoothly. The band even worked in a fun P-Nut bass solo and a full-on percussion break during “Applied Science” that got the whole room cheering.

One of the most emotional moments came during their cover of “Lovesong,” which they played with a lot of heart before launching into fan favorites like “Amber” and “Creatures (for a While).” They ended the night with a loud and sweaty encore featuring “Eons” and “Down,” which had everyone jumping and singing as if it were the mid-2000s all over again.

Even after all these years, 311 sounds tight and locked in. Nick Hexum and SA Martinez still have great chemistry on vocals, Tim Mahoney’s guitar playing was spot-on all night, and Chad Sexton’s drumming held everything together. The band looked genuinely happy to be on stage and feeding off the crowd.

Sitting on Saturn set the tone with bright, spacey energy. Badflower followed with a darker, heavier edge. Then 311 brought everything together for one of the best ways to kick off the summer—loud, positive, and full of energy.

Ovation Hall was a great setting for night one of the Unity Tour. The lights looked great, the sound was clean, and the crowd was all in from beginning to end.

If this show was any sign of what’s to come for the rest of the tour, 311 fans are in for something special. This wasn’t just a throwback night—it was proof that 311 is still moving forward, still experimenting, and still bringing people together.
