Philadelphia is gearing up for an exciting Mother’s Day weekend filled with events that celebrate the holiday in style. From a free festival honoring the city’s Mother’s Day roots to live music, a Phillies home series, and some ballroom flair, there’s something for every mom and family to enjoy.

First up is Firstival, taking place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Historic St. George’s Museum and Archives. This free event celebrates the first public Mother’s Day celebration held at Wanamaker’s Department Store in 1908. The highlight is a sculpture by artist Allegra Yvonne Gia, showcasing a diverse group of mothers and children, adorned with floral designs symbolizing love and appreciation.

Later that evening, The Black Keys will perform at Franklin Music Hall at 8 p.m. as part of their Peaches ‘N Kream Tour. The duo, known for their blues and soul sound, will be promoting their new album, “Ohio Players,” featuring collaborations with artists like Beck and Juicy J. Tickets start at $122.66.

Baseball fans can catch the Philadelphia Phillies as they host the Colorado Rockies for a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park. Games are scheduled for May 8 at 6:40 p.m., May 9 at 6:05 p.m., and May 10 at 1:35 p.m. Kids 14 and under can snag free T-shirts and socks, while Mother’s Day Sunday will feature special celebrations for moms at the ballpark.

With a mix of music and sports, Philadelphia is the place to be this Mother’s Day weekend!
