My Chemical Romance has opened the vault and given fans another reason to celebrate The Black Parade. The band has officially released “Someone Out There Loves You (Live From Hoboken),” a previously unreleased track from its iconic album era.
The live recording arrived on October 16, ahead of the expanded 20th-anniversary edition of The Black Parade, which Reprise Records will release on October 23.
The accompanying video captures the band performing at Maxwell’s, a small venue in Hoboken, New Jersey, in 2007. The newly available footage offers fans a glimpse of My Chemical Romance during one of the most defining periods of its career.
My Chemical Romance Brings a Lost Song Into the Spotlight
“Someone Out There Loves You” gives fans a fresh look at the creative world surrounding The Black Parade. The band recorded the performance during its original album tour, but the track had never received an official release on streaming platforms.
Now, listeners can finally hear the song under its official title and experience the performance beyond its earlier limited release.
The track delivers the theatrical intensity and emotional urgency that helped define the band’s The Black Parade era. Gerard Way’s dramatic vocals and the group’s explosive instrumentation make the recording a compelling snapshot of My Chemical Romance onstage in 2007.
‘The Black Parade’ Anniversary Edition Adds Six Bonus Tracks
My Chemical Romance will celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary with an expanded edition that brings together the original record and six bonus tracks.
The collection includes three live recordings from the band’s October 2007 performance at Maxwell’s: “Dead!,” “The Sharpest Lives” and “Someone Out There Loves You.” The expanded release also gathers three previously released B-sides: “Heaven Help Us,” “Kill All Your Friends” and “My Way Home Is Through You.”
In a statement announcing the anniversary release, the band reflected on the album’s lasting impact.
“Twenty years ago, we wrote what would become The Black Parade, our third record and the follow-up to Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge,” the band said. My Chemical Romance added that it had never imagined what the record would eventually mean to the group.
The Band Continues Its ‘Long Live The Black Parade’ Tour
The new release also arrives as My Chemical Romance continues its Long Live The Black Parade tour, which celebrates the landmark album with performances for fans around the world.
The band is set to play five shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, beginning October 21 and concluding on Halloween, October 31.
In one of their shows, lead vocalist Gerard Way also told fans that the band would like to return to the studio and make another album. If it happens, the project would mark the band’s first full-length studio album in more than 15 years.
