Kings of Leon released the song “KOYSAR” from their 10th studio album, O My Beloved. The record lands Nov. 6 on Love Tap Records, with Virgin Music handling distribution.
“KOYSAR” stands for “Kick Off Your Shoes and Run.” The song draws on the band’s childhood memories and on what they have learned while raising families of their own. It is the third single from the album.
Lead singer Caleb Followill explained where the phrase came from.
“I was walking around the house and I kept singing ‘kick off your shoes and run,’ and it started to take me back to when we were kids and we didn’t have a care in the world,” he mentioned, as quoted by The Music Universe.
The video follows the band through a day at the fair with their families. All four members appear with their wives and kids at a local county fair.
“KOYSAR” follows “My Whole World,” the first single, and “Cold Blue Dawn.” The second came out last month. It had a lyric video made with The Weather Channel, which used NASA satellite topography to bring the words to life.
The band announced O My Beloved last month. It follows Can We Please Have Fun, released in 2024. This is the first full-length album the band has produced on its own.
Caleb Followill spoke about the project in a statement shared by Rock Cellar Magazine: “We have already surpassed anything we ever imagined we could do, and we’ve built something that is so special. I thought, wouldn’t it be beautiful to make an album that is looking back on all of the things that we’ve done and appreciating how we got here,” he said.
“In the songs, there’s our families, stories from our childhood, things that maybe didn’t seem that significant at the time, but the way they find their way into these songs kind of lets me realize how impactful they really were in my life,” Caleb Followill said.
The band will be on tour next year, with all dates listed on their website.
