System of a Down has tacked on a fourth and final show at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, set for Saturday, June 12, 2027. Tickets for the new date went on sale on Oct. 27, as per BraveWords.
The first three Rose Bowl dates had already sold out. The new night joins shows on June 5, June 6, and June 10, so fans now get four nights at the stadium.
Pierce The Veil will play as special guests on June 5 and June 6. Gojira takes over on June 10 and June 12.
The Rose Bowl run started as a single show. Fans wanted more, so the band added two others. Those sold out too, and a fourth night followed.
The band started in Glendale, California, in 1994. Serj Tankian sings and plays keyboards, Daron Malakian plays guitar and sings, Shavo Odadjian plays bass, and John Dolmayan hits the drums.
The group put out its self-titled debut in 1998. Since then, they’ve sold more than 42 million albums around the world. Three of their five studio albums opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
System of a Down also won the GRAMMY Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2006 for “B.Y.O.B.” The band has not released a studio album since 2005, when Mezmerize and Hypnotize came out. In 2020, it put out two songs, “Protect the Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz.”
The new show announcement comes after a summer stadium tour of Europe and the United Kingdom. Paris, London, and Warsaw each saw back-to-back sellouts. The band also marked the 25th anniversary of its 2001 album Toxicity. An exhibition at Beyond The Streets in Los Angeles ran this past week and showed rare artifacts and ephemera from that time.
All 2027 dates are listed on the band’s official website.
