Saosin Brings the Nostalgia to Starland Ballroom

Words and Photos by Bri Skriloff

17 songs, plenty of energy, and a whole lot of memories packed into one night.

There’s something special about hearing songs you’ve loved for years played live, and Saosin brought plenty of those moments to Starland Ballroom.

The band kicked things off with “I Can Tell There Was an Accident Here Earlier” and kept the energy going throughout a 17-song set filled with fan favorites. Between the heavy guitar riffs, driving drums, and familiar vocals, it was the kind of night that reminded everyone why these songs have stuck around for so long.

There was plenty to capture from the photo pit. Guitarists leaned into their instruments, completely locked into the music, while the lighting bounced between bright blues, fiery oranges, and deep purples. The drummer kept things moving behind the kit, and the vocalist made his way across the stage, microphone in hand, bringing plenty of personality and energy to every song.

The set moved through classics like “Sleepers,” “It’s So Simple,” “Voices,” and “Finding Home,” giving longtime fans plenty to sing along to. As the night went on, songs like “Follow and Feel,” “Come Close,” and “Just Be Honest” kept the momentum going.

Things got especially exciting with “3rd Measurement in C,” “I Never Wanted To,” “Collapse,” and “Bury Your Head.” These are the songs that helped make Saosin such a memorable part of the post-hardcore scene, and hearing them live brought back plenty of nostalgia.

The band wrapped up the night with “Some Sense of Security,” “Seven Years,” and finally “You’re Not Alone.” It was a great way to close out a set that had a little bit of everything: heavy moments, familiar favorites, and the kind of energy that makes you forget about everything else for a while.

Whether you’ve been listening to Saosin since the early days or found your way to their music more recently, nights like this are a good reminder of why live music means so much. Some songs just never get old, and judging by the energy in the room, these aren’t going anywhere anytime soon!
