Robin Finck will open The Official Robin Finck Reverb Shop on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Over 200 items he used with Nine Inch Nails and Guns N’ Roses will go up for sale. Buyers will find guitars, pedals, and other gear.
“I’ve genuinely used and enjoyed all of these pieces, so much so that I’ve ended up with two or even three of some of them. You know I love all these sweeties, I just don’t need multiples of them anymore,” Robin Finck said in a statement. “I have been so fortunate to have played these on stages all over the world, and now they’re poised to play with someone new.”
One piece stands above the rest. It’s “Old Gold,” a Gibson Les Paul ’60 Reissue Goldtop. Finck played it during the Nine Inch Nails set at Woodstock ’94, in the “March of the Pigs” music video, and on the Self Destruct tour. It stayed in his hands for every Nine Inch Nails tour through 2014.
“This is the only guitar that made it out of 1994 intact. I don’t know why or how because it’s also the guitar I played more than any other,” Robin Finck said, as quoted by Rolling Stone.
The shop will also list a 1990 Gibson Les Paul Custom in limited-edition Translucent White. He bought it as his first Les Paul. “It’s the only guitar I had when I landed in Nine Inch Nails,” Robin Finck said. “I’ve played it for over 35 years. It has always been favored.”
Fans of Guns N’ Roses have something to look at too. A 2000 Gibson R8 ’58 Reissue Les Paul he played on tour with the band is up for sale. So is a red Schecter Robin Finck Ultra guitar. Marshall JCM2000 TSL-100 amp heads from the 2009 Wave Goodbye tour round out that group, and Finck used those heads with Guns N’ Roses in 2000.
Finck joined Nine Inch Nails in 1994. Nothing here is up for auction; every item has a set price. Fans who want to know the moment the shop goes live on Nov. 11 can sign up with an email address on Reverb.
