Bruce Springsteen is bringing his award-winning Springsteen on Broadway show back to Broadway for a limited 30-show run this summer.
The Boss shared Springsteen on Broadway will be hosted at Jujamcyn’s St. James Theatre beginning June 26 through September 4. Springsteen’s official website notes, “Proceeds from Opening Night of ‘Springsteen on Broadway’ at the St. James Theatre will be donated to a group of local New York and New Jersey charities including the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Food Bank for New York City, Fulfill (Monmouth & Ocean Counties Foodbank), Long Island Cares, NJ Pandemic Relief Fund and The Actor’s Fund.”
Tickets for the new run of Springsteen on Broadway go on sale Thursday, June 10 at 12 PM ET via SeatGeek.com, where fans can find complete ticket information.
SeatGeek mentions, “All guests will need to be fully vaccinated and present proof of vaccination status in order to attend ‘Springsteen on Broadway.’ The only exception will be for children under the age of 16, who must be accompanied by a vaccinated adult and also must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test.”
In a brief statement, Springsteen said, “I loved doing ‘Springsteen on Broadway’ and I’m thrilled to have been asked to reprise the show as part of the reopening of Broadway.”
The first run of Springsteen on Broadway was initially supposed to be an eight-week limited engagement at the Walter Kerr Theatre, but due to its success, it ended up lasting for 236 shows. The show resulted in Springsteen receiving a Special Tony Award at the 72nd Annual Tony Awards in 2018. Springsteen on Broadway was later brought to the masses via an exclusive special on Netflix.
