Listen To Sheryl Crow’s Live Cover Of George Harrison’s ‘Beware Of Darkness’

Sheryl Crow has released her in-concert version of George Harrison’s “Beware Of Darkness” as the next taste of her forthcoming Valory Music Co set Live From The Ryman & More. This particular track was captured at the Newport Jazz Festival in 2019 and features guest Brandi Carlile. The album follows on August 13.

“Beware Of Darkness,” part of Harrison’s storied All Things Must Pass album, which will be available in a remastered 50th anniversary edition from August 6, is a longtime favorite of Crow’s. She included a studio version on her 2019 album Threads and performed it last year on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. It’s the latest preview of the 27-song live album, which was recorded over five nights at the Ryman, Newport Jazz Festival in Rhode Island, and at the Ace Theater in Los Angeles.

Crow has been releasing tracks from Live From The Ryman & More every two weeks ahead of the full album’s appearance. Before the new cover, she had shared recordings of “Nobody’s Perfect,” “Real Gone,” and “Every Day Is A Winding Road.” In addition to Carlisle, the album features guest appearances by a wealth of other notables including Stevie Nicks, Maren Morris, Jason Isbell, Emmylou Harris, Lucius, Natalie Hemby, and Amanda Shires.

The live album complements Crow’s recent, one-time global livestream Sheryl Crow: The Songs And The Stories – A Live Solo Performance, which aired from on June 18 from the “little church” on her Nashville property.
