Foo Fighters will be guests of honor at the 2021 VMAs and have been announced as being recipients of the Global Icon Award.
The news broke today (August 19) with MTV.com noting, “The honor is set to make its debut VMA appearance after being a prestigious MTV EMA staple for years.” Other artists who have won this honor at the MTV EMAs include Queen, Whitney Houston, Eminem, Green Day, U2, and more.

Additionally, the Foos will be performing at the VMAs, where they are also up for Best Rock Video from “Shame Shame.”
The 2021 VMAs will air live on MTV on Sunday, September 12 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
