MOVEMENTS ANNOUNCE “LIVE AT STUDIO 4” RELEASE OUT DECEMBER 17

BAND DROPS INTIMATE LIVE VERSIONS OF “FEVER DREAM” + “SKIN TO SKIN”

Southern California post-hardcore x indie rock quartet Movements entered the prestigious Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA, working alongside producer Will Yip to deliver Live At Studio 4. It’s an intimate live experience of tracks from their debut full-length, 2017’s Feel Something, and the follow up, 2020’s No Good Left To Give, along with an unexpected cover of “Banquet” by Bloc Party!

The album will be released by Fearless Records. It will be available digitally on December 17, with vinyl arriving on February 25, 2022.

This up close and personal version of Feel Something‘s “Fever Dream” is a clinic of musical, emotional, and lyrical tension that is sustained throughout the song. The song deftly displays the band’s post-hardcore and indie rock tendencies. You’ll feel like you are sitting cross-legged with your shoes off, watching the band perform the track at a super secret basement show that only the cool kids knew about because fellow fans slid into their DMs.

“‘Fever Dream’ is the type of song I look back on and think, ‘I wish we had done more with this,’” says singer Pat Miranda. “It’s not a bad song by any means, but I think as I’ve gotten older I’ve found myself wishing it had more sonic depth. The song itself is extremely personal, and the raw, stripped down performance definitely fits, but I’ve always felt like it lacked a certain soulfulness. We decided to change it up a few years ago and play it full band on tour, and decided to continue doing so with the live session. I think fans appreciate hearing different versions of their favorite songs. Much like hearing a full band song turned acoustic, hearing an acoustic song turned full band just gives it a new life.” Listen here.

The live version of NGLTG‘s “Skin to Skin” calls attention to the song’s quirky and captivating time signatures and it builds up the big breakdown. It’s like you’ve cracked the door open and are listening in on a secret Movements studio session. The song and the version are decidedly Movements, but with a slightly different patina.

“‘Skin to Skin’ is one of our favorite songs to play live,” shares Miranda. “It’s one of our more energetic songs, and we all like to get a little groovy when we play it. The vibe and energy that ‘Skin to Skin’ brings to the set list is really important because it helps balance out the slower/softer songs.” Listen here.

Movements have also announced a short run of West Coast shows for December, which feature some of their biggest venues to date. Shows are already selling out, with tickets available here.
