Queen’s Roger Taylor Receives OBE Honors, Dedicates to Taylor Hawkins

Queen drummer Roger Taylor became an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) yesterday (March 30) and dedicated the honor to his late friend and fellow drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Taylor said in a statement, “My whole family and his whole family were very close. He was, my wife, called him, sunshine in human form. He was the most wonderful man and I can’t quite believe that I’m not going to see him again.

Shortly after Hawkins’ passing, Taylor shared via Instagram, “Like losing a younger favorite brother. He was a kind brilliant man and an inspirational mentor to my son Rufus and the best friend one could ever have. Devastated.”
