Avatar Turns Archer Music Hall into a Metal Circus

Last Friday night the Archer Music Hall in Allentown turned into a full-on metal freakshow as Avatar rolled through on their In the Airwaves USA ’25 tour. The place was packed and buzzing before the lights even went down. Fans had lined up early in the cold, and you could feel the excitement in the air as the doors opened and the crowd filed in.

Once Avatar hit the stage the whole room seemed to shift. The band brought a theatrical energy that matched their reputation, making the venue feel more like a carnival tent than a club. Lead singer Johannes Eckerström took on the crowd like a ringmaster, moving with wild confidence and pulling everyone into the show. The lighting and stage design added to that vibe, with ropes of red light and fog creating big, dramatic moments around every song.

The setlist drew from a number of their best tracks, including heavy hitters like Captain Goat, Silence in the Age of Apes, The Eagle Has Landed, In the Airwaves, Bloody Angel, Death and Glitz, Blod, Colossus, Howling at the Waves, Tower, Legend of the King, all  songs that got big reactions throughout the night.

From the first chord of Captain Goat to the closing moments of Hail The Apocalypse, the crowd was locked in. People were singing along to nearly every song, and the energy stayed high all night long.

The band’s blend of heavy riffs, catchy hooks, and theatrical performance created a show that felt like more than just a concert. It was loud, it was intense, and it was unforgettable. The vibe in Archer was electric, and you could tell that everyone there felt like they had just been part of a special night.
