Halestorm Brings the Grit, Volbeat Brings the Glory to Camden, NJ

The night kicked off with The Ghost Inside, and right away you could tell they weren’t there to simply “warm up” the crowd—they were there to blow the doors off the place. From the first song, the pit was alive, fists in the air, and the mix of raw heaviness and uplifting lyrics pulled everyone in.

Tracks like “Going Under” and “Wash It Away” had fans shouting every word. They’ve been through so much as a band, and that resilience showed in every breakdown and chorus. You could feel the connection between them and the audience—it was heavy music with heart.

Halestorm kept the momentum going, and the energy took on a different shade—more swagger, more grit. Lzzy Hale’s voice was just as fierce and unshakable as you’d expect, soaring over searing guitar riffs and pounding drums. Songs like “I Miss the Misery” and “Love Bites (So Do I)” had the crowd singing every word out loud.

Their chemistry onstage was tight—Lzzy and Joe trading guitar licks, Arejay pounding the drums with wild energy and Josh slappin’ the bass. It felt like a straight-up rock ‘n’ roll throwdown, and the crowd loved every second.

By the time Volbeat hit the stage, the place was buzzing. They opened strong with “The Devil’s Bleeding Crown,” instantly getting everyone moving, and rolled right into fan favorites like “Lola Montez” and “A Warrior’s Call.” Their unique mix of metal riffs, rockabilly swing, and stadium-ready hooks is unlike anything else in the scene, and live, it’s even more fun.

Michael Poulsen had the crowd in the palm of his hand, cracking jokes between songs and making it feel like one big backyard party—if your backyard also had giant amps and thousands of people screaming along.

The set was packed with energy—from the foot-stomping “Sad Man’s Tongue” to the darker edge of “Shotgun Blues.” One of the highlights came when they busted out “Fallen,” a song that had fans belting the chorus like it was a personal anthem. Even the newer tracks fit seamlessly, showing how strong their catalog has become. And yes, that hilariously titled “Barn of the Goat…” song made its way into the set, getting huge laughs and even bigger cheers.
