Lana Del Rey’s ‘Summertime Sadness’ Achieves 2 Billion Streams on Spotify

Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness” has hit a huge milestone, surpassing two billion streams on Spotify. This iconic track is from her 2012 album, *Born To Die*, which also includes hits like “Video Games,” “Born To Die,” “Blue Jeans,” “National Anthem,” and “Dark Paradise.”

“Summertime Sadness” is known for its melancholic vibe, featuring lyrics like “Got my bad baby by my heavenly side/I know if I go, I’ll die happy tonight.” The song captures the bittersweet feeling of enjoying the last moments of summer with a loved one. It initially reached the top 10 on various European charts, but the 2013 remix by Cedric Gervais turned it into a global sensation. Gervais transformed the emotional ballad into a dance anthem, and his version climbed to No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Del Rey’s biggest single.

Gervais shared that he was excited to work with Lana, saying, “I just said, please send me the vocals right away and I did the track in one day.”

Lana has also made her mark in the Spotify Billions Club with other hits like “West Coast,” “Video Games,” “Young And Beautiful,” and her feature on The Weeknd’s “Stargirl Interlude.”

This summer, she toured the U.K. and Ireland, performing at stadiums with acts like London Grammar and BANKS. While on tour, she teased new music from her upcoming 10th album, *The Right Person Will Stay*, which will include the track “57.5,” where she sings about kissing country star Morgan Wallen.
