Megadeth’s 17th studio album has reached the top of the album charts. This self-titled record is the last studio album from the thrash metal band, which Dave Mustaine formed in 1983.
The album includes a bonus track featuring a reworked version of a classic song that Mustaine co-wrote with James Hetfield, Cliff Burton, and Lars Ulrich. This song was originally the title track of their 1984 album. The band also released an expanded edition that includes an exclusive track called “Nobody’s Hero.” Fans can download this bonus song until 11:59 PM on Thursday, January 29.
Mustaine shared, “‘Nobody’s Hero’ was the first song we worked on during the session, which is funny because it didn’t end up on the album. Everything we’d written up to that point had to fight for a place on the record.”
Megadeth has sold 50 million records worldwide and has won a GRAMMY Award, along with 12 other nominations. Their catalog features hits like the platinum album *Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?* and the double-platinum *Countdown To Extinction*, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
Next month, the band will head to Canada for a tour with Anthrax and Exodus. The tour kicks off on February 15 in Victoria and wraps up on March 6 in Quebec City, covering 12 cities across the country.
Starting in August, Megadeth will join Iron Maiden on their Run For Your Lives World Tour. The North American leg begins on August 29 in Toronto and runs through October 2 in Mexico City. All tour dates are available online.
