Poison Scraps 40th Anniversary Tour After Bret Michaels Requests Sixfold Pay Increase Compared to Bandmates

Poison has canceled their 40th anniversary tour. Lead singer Bret Michaels wanted a pay split that would give him $6 for every $1 his three bandmates received. Drummer Rikki Rockett shared, “We had a great offer, but we left the table. It didn’t work.”

Guitarist C.C. DeVille, bassist Bobby Dall, and Rockett were all on board with the offer, but money became an issue. Rockett explained, “C.C., Bobby, and I were all in, and I thought Bret was too, but he wanted the lion’s share of the money. It made it impossible to move forward.” He added, “I don’t do this just for the money. I love what I do, but I don’t want to work hard just to make someone else rich.”

Poison formed in Pennsylvania in 1983 and released their debut album, *Look What The Cat Dragged In*, three years later. Their single hit No. 1 on the charts. Fans were hopeful for tour dates after Michaels hinted at it in a Facebook post for 2024. However, Rockett hinted at trouble in a November 2025 interview, saying talks stalled when the offer reached Michaels. He stated, “We’re probably at a point where I don’t think we can get that tour to happen now.”

Despite the setback, Rockett assured fans there’s no bad blood among the band members. “Every member of this band has given me so much privilege in life,” he said. Rockett will be touring with his side project, Rockett Mafia, and plans to play the entire *Look What The Cat Dragged In* album at each show. He remains hopeful they can resolve the money dispute by next year, joking about a possible “41st anniversary tour.”
